Alpha Size List

Alpha is 100% privately funded, and we do not charge tuition to those we serve.  We are always in need of financial support as well as food, clothing, and toys for the children.  We also have a list of special needs.  Alpha is a ministry for children in need due to abuse, neglect, being orphaned, troubled, or other forms of dysfunction.  Alpha provides the children with a loving family and opportunities for healing and growth.  A school learning center promotes excellence and success academically, sometimes for the first time, for each child. 

Food/Household Items

Alpha is recurrently in need of the following items:

Fresh Milk, Evaporated Milk, Fruit Juices, Fresh Fruit (grapes, oranges, apples, bananas), Frozen Fruit (blueberries, cherries, peaches), Fresh Vegetables (corn on the cob, celery, carrots, potatoes, onions, lettuce, tomatoes), Frozen Vegetables, Can Fruit, Block Cheeses, Shredded Cheddar & Mozzarella, Sliced American & Swiss, Cream Cheese, Lunch Meats, Lunch Snacks & Drinks, Ramen Noodles, Chili, Soup Crackers, Pickles, Hamburger & Chicken Helpers, Chunky or Creamy Peanut Butter, White Vinegar, Light Mayonnaise, Light Ranch & Italian Salad Dressings, BBQ Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, Olive Oil Cooking Spray, Margarine, Shortening, Olive Oil, Frosting, Powdered Sugar, Granulated Sugar, Original Mrs. Dash, Spaghetti Sauce, Alfredo Sauce, Sloppy Joe Sauce, Mushrooms, Olives, "Cream of" Soups, Velveeta, Tortillas, Taco Shells, Kool-aid, Instant Tea, Tea Bags, Coffee, Creamer, Flavored Creamers.

What we need before starting a 2nd Family for Children
*** Our goal is to get this opened for children by this Fall (2010).

• 300 Monthly Financial Partners working together to provide $30 each per month in additional annual operating funds to meet the children's needs in this new family home.  Some can give more and some less, but we know our goal is within reach.
• 3 Heavy Duty Bunk Beds
• 7 New Twin Mattresses
• 4 Tall Dressers

Your Volunteer Labor and Skills are also needed!

Volunteer Speaker Need:

Are you a retired minister or someone who enjoys traveling and public speaking?

We are in great need of people who are willing to volunteer to travel on behalf of Alpha Christian Children's Home to represent our mission to interested churches, organizations, groups, and people as we prayerfully begin the challenging process of raising awareness of our mission, who we serve, and the financial support needs that will be involved in the process of growing the mission to reach more children in need.

Our goal is to grow to three families of 8 children each and a relief famliy over the next 10 years, and we need to raise our funding base to be able to build and monthly support these new families.

Please call our director, Michelle Kincaid, at (785) 597-5235 if you would be interested in volunteering to help Alpha's mission for children by traveling and speaking on the children's behalf. You can make a huge difference for children being reached for Christ with loving, Christian families at the Alpha Christian Children's Home by volunteering to help in this way!
